Log Build: Crab (a crane boat)

I NEED YOUR HELP
I came across a stumbling block with painting the boat.
I have played around with various colour schemes and have wittled it down to 10 versions.
Version #1, and top view of boat (far right) is how it is now. Both the red and grey portions are to remain.

If you only had one out of 10 choices, which one would you opt for?

I was hoping that more than two good souls would want to help me, and contribute towards my boat building.
Time is getting close to get back onto this project. I'll wait till the end of this coming weekend for any more votes.

The weekend has come and gone and, after ALL my pleading, not a single added vote. Thanks a lot!
As we swabbies would say "WAFWOTAM".
My enthusiasm to post updates on this boat has dropped down a few pegs.

To justify the two voters, Greg and Voltan, I have decided to use a bit of both coloured layouts of #8 and #10.
I hope Greg and Zoltan don't mind me doing so.

I was not going to stop posting.
At the time, I was disheartened. But this experience reminded me of what apathy is about.

Apathy arises when others see no point in participation.
Now, if I was seen as an incompetent model builder, then others would see a point in participation; that is, to help me out.
But since others did not, they must think I am competent to make my own decisions (regardless if I invite them to participate or not).
So, in a way, I am the one that caused the apathy.

I forget that now and again.

Apathy, may not be the case in everyone's mindset, but I think we all should be aware of our family members wishes at some point.

I just made some google, most of the working boats have black hulls. This makes some sense if you imagine, that they have much more often „contact“ with they surrounding (jetty, boats and ships, etc.)
I would paint my ship with a color easy to repair and repaint. In addition you will have a lot of tires hanging around your boat to protect the hull, so no black rubber on top of a white hull -> black

I am still staying with my decision in post # 49.

Personally, if I had a boat it would be Highway Yellow. The reason for such a strong contrasting colour is simple. You cannot miss it in the water.
One time in the RAAF we were doing a search and rescue in a C-140 Hercules over the ocean, doing a grid search low over the water. We searched for 12 hours. The colour of the boat was blue and white, and that is all you see out there. A few times we though we saw something, but it was just a whale coming up for air. I remember telling myself that if I ever get a boat it will be yellow.
 
This is off course a reason.... but do not forget, that such a working boat will sail only on rivers, harbors and close to the shore.....it will not sail over the ocean

You maybe right about that in the real world. But this boat belongs to the Bridge and Boat Diorama currently under construction. A diorama is more about the drama played out than making precision copies of the real world. Changes can be made, for aesthetic reasons, for the sake of the diorama. Black tyre bumpers on a white hull, aesthetically, is more appealing and dramatic, than a black tyre on a black hull.

Though I have shown two examples with a black hull, and eight others without, I am prepared to go either way. However, what made my decision is based on what others have opted for. In this case there was no majority vote to chose from. Out of respect for those who voted, a compromise was reached, and I intend to keep it that way.

I believe, when it comes to dioramas, the following quote often becomes appropriate:

Having lost some motivation to get back into this project at the moment.
So, I have returned to do some more with the Bridge and Boat Diorama.
