Does anyone have a source for some white metal/Britania fittings, I need to use some case deadeye assemblies for a set of shrouds I'm not finding much.

I did a quick search of "Metal Deadeyes Ship Models" and three hits immediately came up on EBay.

I was hoping to purchase from a shop, I need to verify the sizes before purchase, dealing on these type items on ebay is rough sometimes.

How about Bluejacket Ship models. They have a wide line of cast metal fittings. Also Model Expo. I believe that both answer their phones. I agree, that is unusual these days.

I have some white metal fittings for 1/8" rudder hinges that won't fit the 1/4" plywood supplied for the rudder. You're welcome to melt them down and make whatever you want of them because they are of no use in the kit they came in...

Thanks but I really don't have a way to reshape. I'll have to do them the old fashioned way.

Hi Jake,
From what I could research, at the time of Mayflower the deadeyes on English ships were triangular shaped, not round. Round deadeyes were introduced on English ships in the second half of the 17th century. I also found that the timing of deadeye shapes was posted by Darius Architectus (Kurt) in the past.

Correct, the kit has the correct shaped one, I was just trying to save some grief.

Thanks All, I'll need to rig the triangle shaped deadeye as normal, no one make the metal with lanyards. Oh Well.

Ok, so the metal deadeyes are new to me. Never heard of such on a ship.
If they needed to be round, I could machine out some using aluminum stock.

Donnie, they make them in white metal or Pewter, I was looking for larger triangled shaped type but no one makes them, I 'll use the ones that came with the kit. the style was common 1600's, Thanks though.
