Hi, could someone please recommend where I can buy round files 0.4, 0.5, 0.6, 0.7 and 0.8 mm? I need high quality files to tool out some grooves for stropping the rigging blocks made of wood.
They only send to a Austria adress …….for such small diameters I use reamer
@Jimsky we had this thema some weeks ago - you mentioned somewhere the correct term for these small tools

I cannot use this as it produces a square slot. I need a round slot.why not use jewlers jig saw blades also used for guitar pearl inlay?
Unfortunately these are a square profile tools. They are used to enlarge the round holes by inserting them into a hole, rotating and pushing them in. They are not designed for filing. Ones I checked did not even have an abrasive surface - just the bare steel.for such small diameters I use reamer
These are square and bare steel. I checked with the retailer.A google search for modelcraft PBR2193 looks promising
yes a bare steel - and a square cross section - I am using them by turning in small holes and the edge is scrapping the hole.Unfortunately these are a square profile tools. This is exactly what I need. Thanks. Unfortunately they do not ship to Canada.Look here:
