First time model ship builder. Used to build plastic models for years but never wood.
Started with Model Shipways Dory.
Had a great time and learned a lot. Some pics from along the way and some final pictures.
Pretty happy how it turned out. Moving on to the Pram next.

Welcome aboard from Massachusetts! The Dory was my first wooden ship model as well. You did a great job with it. Are you moving on to the Norwegian Sailing Pram?

Welcome aboard from Connecticut. Your Dory looks great! This is how I started and I progressed to the pram then an18th century long boat. For me at lest that was the way to go. I learned a lot with each build.

Thanks. I feel I learned a lot and most importantly learned I really enjoying the journey.

Beautiful in result and process. Meticulous and well done, Greg!
Even pre-painting- a very clean and neat build. I am sure your build photos will provide excellent guidance for others, myself included.
Greetings from Massachusetts- and welcome!

Brad and Greg, except for the painting I just finished the Chesapeake Bay Flattie and I'm ready to move on! Greg your beautiful Dory has inspired me to start on the Dory, Pram and Smack kit from Model Shipways! It should be a lot of fun to work on during the hot Texas summer heat! It's time to finally take it down from the shelf and get busy! Regards, Magic Mike

wow those are great thanks. I grew up in CT although at the time was not into ships/boats. I remember Mystic Seaport on school trips. Thanks for sharing.
