Lynx by Panart [Completed Build]

Well I am a glutton for punishment. Getting board with the independence so I decided to start the lynx.

Quick inventory of the kit. Some of the planking will be changed out. As it looks it's not the best directions. The AL and the panart directions are pretty non existent all you have to go off of is pictures. But we will see how this goes.

Got the cross members for the deck to sit on in glued and in place. And have 2 planks layers of planks on. This one will be a slow one to plank because I have to remove the uprights that the first 3 to 4 planks in place.

That is very true I am starting to run out of space I think I have enough space for the 2 that I have going now.

There is enough space for the 2 I'm on now. Lol the misses is really going to hate it when I start filling up the rest of the house.

Laying planks one at at time till I can start gluing to the framing.

Sanded one side smooth while working the rest of the planking on the other side.

Finally got the first layer on her. Now to sand down and get prepared for the second layer.

Correct I just use them to hold the first layer on while glue is drying. The second layer will be put on with ca glue

Well she is finaly smoothed out enough for the second later of planking. Got the transom planked and the deck inside for a test fit. Thinking I'll plank the deck while its inside the ship so that I know the deck floor is secured right. Kinda made a booboo at the bow have to scratch build it when it comes to that point.

Started making the rabbit on the keel, and planked the stern with the second layer, and got the deck glued and secured with nails now just have to wait for it to dry.

Thank you grant. I was hesitant at first to do this kit but find myself enjoying it alot more than the independence by AL. Taking a few more liberties on this one.

It's just going to be ashame to cover this keel section with paint but for this model I planned on painting it from the beginning.

Starting to lay some decking down.

6 hours worth of deck planking today. Pulled up the strips I had already put down because something told me that having a king plank would look much better and then decided to break it up a little bit by throwing an African walnut strip of planking in there.

About 3/4s the way done with the decking.

All the deck planks are on. Now to start planking the hull and plank the bulwarks.

Second layer of planking going on. Wish I would have been able to use the ones that came with the kit. But the quality of the material was horrible and no matter how long you soak it it was so brittle it kept breaking.
