micro chisel

These look terrific. But what is the cost and availability in the US? There appears to be a waiting list.
Who makes these?
These handmade, precision, cheeses are made by Michail Kirsanov from (Russia). The set cost about $350.00 Pearwood handles. Unfortunately, due to his age, he stopped taking the new orders a few years back.

I am watching this discussion with big interest. I however am not sure what I would use the micro chisels for. So far in my modelling career I did not encounter the task where I would use them. I do not have skills to carve a figurehead. Is there anything else these chisels can be useful for but micro sculpture cutting? Could someone show some examples of what they use their chisel sets for?

Like Jim Burns, It is a great loss to the modeling community.:(

Thanks for the tip. It led me to an amazon site with a useful looking tool. One handle And seven chisel blades. Probably fairly rubbish at the £12 price but I will only need it occasionally. I have ordered it. Another item for the toy box.

I'm glad he's alive and, hopefully well, with a well-deserved retirement. Sorry to no longer be able to get such a superior set of tools.

Chisels acquired. Conveniently packaged in plastic boxes. Spare grub screw kindly included. Probable OK for tasks like cutting out the waste wood between two saw cuts in a halving joint on cross trees or cutting slots in the ends of catheads for pulleys. May need frequent sharpening if blades are not quality steel. Better than an old screwdriver filed to an edge!
