I couldn't wait to get started.
It's a nice kit with buckets of parts I would photograph them but as there are so many I would be there all day.
I have popped in a pic of one of the spures to give an idea of what I am going to tackle.
The first job has been to get some paint on the hull and drill the smaller portholes out to make them more visible.

Moving on to the next part this time it's the turn of the promonade and boat deck and complete officers quarters and funnels one and two along with the first class dome and cover with the vents.
And being the first moulding 1976 vintage 20190509_162623.jpg20190509_161901-1.jpgthis kit everything is out of sink and it is giving me a lot of work so much to cover I will be here for a bit.

Good progress! Interesting kit.

One thing I never understood about the design of Titanic, and all the trans-Atlantic steam ships, was why the exhaust funnels were raked leaning aft. Titanic's top speed was about 25 mph, so it can't really be about aerodynamics. Her immense size and hull design limited her top speed, not wind resistance! Was it purely aesthetic??

As I am at full on mojo time to have a go at some of the smaller PE so I will be building one of the davits and adding the hand rope's to the side of the life boats I have finished one but the supplied PE needs to be cut down to fit and somewhere in amongst those parts are davits for twenty life boats.20190613_123629.jpg20190613_123700.jpg20190613_132206.jpg20190613_132334.jpg20190613_132402.jpg

Looking good so far. Looks like you're getting into the complicated PE stuff. Doesn't look like you have updated in a while - I would be interested in seeing your progress.
