Model Expo new warehouse.

After we are moved to South Carolina its my plan to visit the place there in Florida. Too long a drive from Minnesota.

Have purchased a number of your products. Am working on the norwegian sailing pram at the moment, so I have a lot to learn and a long way to go. I am really looking for a place that I can find videos or other detailed pictures on various builds... Love your products and the warehouse looks great! strider47

Well my friend, you are in the wright place. Ask anything about a particular build and you will find your answer right here.

And now for the big news.
Model Expo has adquieres the license to soon start producing all of the Midwest Products models. Nice little starting kits for the newcomers to this exciting hobby.

Are these kits New Old Stock acquired from Midwest, or new production kits with new / updated materials and plans? I ask this as I've seen the Midwest Muscongus Bay Lobster Smack kit on eBay as a Skill Level II, and the Model Shipways version in M.E. as a Skill Level III.

These are all new models produced by ME with Midwest permission.
It is not a revised version but the same as Midwest with all new materials.
So far ME has pulled out 6 models and more are on the way.
I believe that soon we will have “The Tour Master”.

I noticed that you have built a few ME models.
Did you know that if you sent your photos of your ME finished models, they will publish it on their website?

I'm primarily an airplane builder and I came across ModelExpo while searching for some kits to build a few years ago. I have since purchased several dozen Guillows and Dumas kits from them and have their Model Airways Camel and DR1 kit. I just started the Camel kit and actually that is how I came across this forum while looking for a build review of that kit. I've been building airplanes for close to 50 years now and it's sad to see that all of the major manufacturers have gone out of business. With Model Expo picking up the midwest line of boats I wonder what the likelihood of them bringing back some of the midwest airplane kits might be. I suppose the market just isn't there any more or someone else would have done it already.
I am fascinated with all the ship kits they offer and I may have to purchase a few to try my hand at ship building. I imagine it is similar in many ways to airplane building just learning new terminology and some techniques. I have poor eyesight and my detail painting skills have never been much to be desired....certainly not like the pictures I see here but I always need something to do to keep my brain busy.
Anyway, I really like the Model Expo company, they always seem to have great sales going on and they have replied to every question I have asked via email within a day or less.
I looked at their entry level kits and they seem a bit simple for my tastes, (maybe that's my ego getting in the way) but I'd like to find something that will test my skill set a bit, yet not be so fiddly that I'd be unable to complete it. I'd be willing to budget 300$ or so for a kit and I'm sure I will find one that appeals to me if I read enough.

That is a great story about you and Model Expo.
For two years I was the one that would answer all of the emails and questions.
Model Expo is always thinking about what to do next.
I will ask Carlos (Production and Operating Manager) about the Midwest airplane kits, maybe it will be something to think about.
I strongly believe that with your airplane skills, you can easily tackle a model ship.
If you want to give it a try, I recommend the Model Shipways Mayflower 1:76 scale.
It’s a nice looking galleon type shop that will keep your brain busy and only cost $250.00.
If I’m not mistaking, you can have a especial discount because you belong to this forum.
When you open our forum, go to the menu and look for the news. There it will tell you how to get your discount.
It’s great met you, my name is Julian.

I have quite a few of their kits. Now I need to build them. :)
Yes Corsair, let’s dust off those kits and start building them.
I already created a building log for the “Flattie”and they commissioned me for another three more small models that soon I will post them here.
First I have to finish a Sub Chaser that I am about to complete.

AHA! I wondered about them. No models were available. But now - what great news. Beautiful kits for beginners, medium and skilled alike, especially for RC builders. I love the Chris Craft's.
Yes, it’s great to see these models back in production again.
Soon we will have the “Harbour Master” and the “Tour Master” in production.
I’m excited because I will get one of the first models to build them for our catalog and of course, I will create a building log here.

I build cruise ship and ocean liner models... and would love to know if there are some in stock the will be available soon... ?I would LOOOOOVE to be let loose in there to see what's there!!!!!
Ocean liner?
Well, they have the OcCre Titanic. A HUGE model for people that like your line of ships.
But look around because they also have a French line of models called “New Maquettes” that May carry some cruise ship models.

Hello Bluebeard:
I was looking for the area you called the news, looking how to get the discount you talked about but couldn’t find it! Could you direct me with a link or show me if I’m missing it! Greatly appreciated!

Hello Strider47:
I also am building the Norwegian Sailing Pram and have a build thread on it! Yo should start a build thread and compare how different people approach construction and the hurdles that pop up! Any subject I do I search different threads seeing how other builders approach their builds, and ask questions for my own growing knowledge of this exquisite hobby! Looking forward to seeing your build thread too!

Scroll down and you will find it there.
Let me know if that worked for you.
