One of the difficulties is to rig your ship wth proper sails which is not too thick and giving the right feel.
I got a tip from Ab Hoving that he used a Voile Cotton for his model of a Ducth warship in scale 1:77, this is giving a perfect look, see his beautiful model below.

The cloth Voile Cotton I purchased is a natural 100% bio cotton in a color off white. Voile is a very slightly transparent cotton which is very light and supple.
I will be using this for a sail making test which I will post here.

Looking for proper resources I found this video of a Russian Modeller.

I am going to test this if it still provides the suppleness in the sails I want to reach.
