All great ideas. I have since replaced my rotary tool with a Proxxon milling machine MF70. I just find that I can do much more with this tool than the rotary tool. I don"t even use my Dremmel anymore.
Honk if you agree with me lol

Unfortunately, I am not 100% agree with you, IMHO. Better say, I disagree! You cannot replace a rotary tool with a milling machine for every job you need, even this is converted to CNC MF70 (by Proxxon). BTW, this milling machine is an entry-level mill, you can mill wood and some soft metal: like brass or\and copper. Milling metal parts will be a challenge. Also, only small parts can be milled. Rotary tool - is a freehand tool, you can shape, cut, drill anywhere on your model! Drilling treenails holes, for example, how you will do this using MF70, even converted to CNC? Hm...mmm ;)

...so, out of curiosity, if this is not a secret, what do you use instead of a rotary tool if you need drill treenails holes on the hull? ;)
I don't add trunnels. I don't like the look. As for drilling holes on the model, if i can do it with the mill i do so, if not i use a pin vice. I just find there is too much power on those rotary tools and I either wind up over sanding or missing the mark on the drilled hole that I want.. But that is just my humble opinion. Take it for what it's worth.
PS> I know that the proxxon mill is an entry level mill, but I only use it for wood. I have no intention of getting into metal working.

nice list, but in my mind, many of the mentioned tools are not necessary for beginners. what you have here is a mix of what I called beginners tools and professional tools.

I'm agreeing with Jimsky. I have owned both a rotary tool and a mill for some time and would not want to be without either, they both get used. Just the other day I made some belaying pins using the rotary tool, this would have been much harder using the mill and not near as quick. I'll keep and use both. :)
lol I think I have about 20+ rotary tools in every size you can imagine and use most of time to time
