My 1/72 scale aircraft

What a great experience! I'm glad you got the chance to go. Did they have a cockpit-mounted camera and give you a video of your flight? I got a VCR tape when I took my AT-6 flight. It was pretty much an hour of me grinning from ear to ear except for the times when he switched cameras to a forward view. Thank you for sharing your photos (and bringing back some fond memories). (I rotated some of your images so we don't have to lay on our side to see them. ROTF )

Thanks Russ! No video provided, I used my phone and as advised I kept it inside the canopy…ROTF. I kept my canopy almost fully open. Just didn’t stick the phone out into the full wind. ;)

Well, a lot has changed since I started this build log…A lot of new builds were completed and those aircraft added to my collection, a lot of kits were purchased to add, a grandfather clock project finished and a few other projects started, not to mention a few old projects waiting to be completed (yes, a ship model is one).
But I will always find time to build an airplane, because these are short projects that I can squeeze in when I need a break from a long project. Besides I love them… ROTF
On the shelf currently…

Question is, do I build a WW1 or WW2 aircraft next? Also it’s time to consider what to do about my shelf space being almost fully used up.
Decisions….see ya next time…

That must have been a great experience, Dean. Such a basic flying machine with a beautiful sound.
Regards, Peter

Absolutely, I love the sound of a radial engine! The weather was perfect and I flew with the canopy open. I didn’t want it to end. I’m definitely looking forward to flying in the biplane!

I’m excited to say I have a new kit on the way! I found a nice resin kit of a N3N…

I am not familiar with the manufacturer Karaya, but it seems to be a nice kit. So I am looking forward to getting it. Once I have it in hand I can look at the parts and determine just how detailed they are. ;)

Kit arrived…my impressions? Not very impressed! My printer could do much better.
I would expect more out of a company when it comes to the equipment and quality of parts. They are tiny! But they appear to be molded in resin? They have flash and no supports that would be used to print.

First, the instructions have no numbers and the parts are not numbered.

So assembly is strictly identifying parts visually!
The parts…

The decals and some PE stuff…

This looks like a lot of work and frustration! I’m sure it can become a nice model, however if there were a plastic version available I would choose it. I don’t like working with CA, and you have to with resin. And with tiny parts they are very brittle in resin and will snap if you are not very careful. So this will be like performing surgery…lol. Oh well, it’s the only N3N I could find a model of in 1/72 scale. So one day I will tackle it! ;)

See ya next time…
