My 1/72 scale aircraft

Helped my granddaughter with her paint by number on canvas. I painted the eyes for her. ;)

The painting above to the left she did starting with a blank canvas. She loves painting and music. She is currently taking piano lessons and has her first recital next week. At 8 yrs old, she seems to have talent in art and music. So I encourage her to pursue those!

Now for the aircraft update:
I am waiting on a few final decals I ordered for the f-86D. I will add those once they arrive.

And I am going to add a F-101B Voodoo that I ordered, it is a diecast in 1/72 scale. I am having trouble finding a new plastic kit in stock. I wanted a non recon version, and used kits on EBay usually have old decals that need to be replaced , which can get expensive. So I conceded to adding a diecast version for now. I will add a few details to it I'm sure.

I have also started unboxing my next build and going through it, the Seversky P-35. A very interesting aircraft and history. It eventually evolved into the P-43 Lancer and P-47 Thunderbolt by Republic. More about that later.

I also ordered more aircraft for my collection:
F-105G Thunderchief
F-89D Scorpion
Hawker Fury (Yugoslavian version) biplane
F-22 Raptor
F-35C Lightning II
A1H Skyraider

I will give an update once I begin on the Seversky P-35 and have something to show.

See ya next time…

Nice to read that your granddaughter has the same talent’s as you, Dean. Something with DNA …….. Perhaps later also playing guitar and something with modelbuilding? A scaled doll house?
Than see can also make a log here on the SoS, like Paul’s @dockattner grandson Ethan!
Regards, Peter

The engine is basic, but enough detail to look convincing…

I have now joined the fuselage halves…

As it dries, I will start to prepare the wings to be glued on. Note the access door behind the pilot. That area has a seat…hmm…so let’s look into that…

Interesting, I may leave the door to that area raised so you can see in there. Otherwise it was a waste of effort. ;)
Here is a picture of a P-35…

The same designer of this airplane went on to work for Republic and designed the P-47 Thunderbolt. Of course the P-43 Lancer came first.
You can see similarities in all three aircraft and I wanted to have all three in my collection to represent the evolution. From P-35 Seversky to the P-43 Lancer to the P-47 Thunderbolt. And of course they will be displayed next to each other. ;)
