My 1/72 scale aircraft

Reggiane RE.2001 Falco II completion:

Landing gear was painted and assembled…

Then the bomb was assembled…the hangers were not an easy task…

But it all worked out in the end…

After that dried, she was done!

And on the appropriate shelf…

This shelf will be Russian, French and Italian aircraft. My last two builds added to this shelf, as it used to only have 4 aircraft.

See ya next time…

Update on the Mosquito…

Building the main wings. About 7 parts each and some pre-painting in the hard to reach areas like the wheel bays and the radiators.

Next they will be glued onto the fuselage.

I am not working in exact order per the instructions. They have you complete each wing with landing gear, gear doors, pylons, bombs, etc. …which makes no sense to me! You need to paint the aircraft first, then add all of the other components. So I read the entire instructions and made note of what I needed to assemble and pre-paint in order to be ready to paint the entire aircraft.

See ya next time…

Hi Dean,

Your Mosquito is looking great. What type of putty are you using? I just got some Mr. Hobby white putty, but I haven't tried it yet. My favorite color scheme for the Mosquito is the invasion colors.

Thanks Bill. That is a nice scheme...painting the stripes will not be fun, but I am considering it. ;) I was also looking at a camouflage scheme.
As far as putty goes, I use several different things; perfect plastic putty by Deluxe materials, vinyl spackling by DAP, and Vallejo plastic putty. So I don't have a tried and true putty I always use. Believe it or not, I really like the vinyl spackling because it is easy to fill and wipe flush, and it sands very easy when dry. You can also use a wet brush to smooth it.
