My 1/72 scale aircraft

De Havilland Mosquito is finished!
I was a little apprehensive when I started it, but Tamiya did a great job with this kit. Everything went together well. The canopy frame was fun, I had to put the camouflage pattern on it. ;)

I need to add to my WW1 category, so this one has been on my short list.

The exhaust usually needs to be modified on the end…

And then there was excessive flash on some pieces…sigh!

After cockpit assembly and joining the fuselage, I sanded and added putty in the required areas and then built the empannage…

Then it was time to start the painting…

This is a darker wood tone than some I have seen, but I think it gives it more of an aged look. Plus once the colors go on the wings, it will look brighter. ;)

See ya next time…

Hi Dean,
I can see this is going to be a great build already. Your wood grain looks great. I wouldn't worry about the wood color. The Alabtros was made in three different factories, the Berlin factory, OAW and LVG factories. Because of the differences in the manufacturing process between factories, it was common to have slight variations in colors.

Thanks Bill! Good to know my wood tone is feasible.
