My New addition to the library

The "Anatomy of the Ship" series is a wonderful series !
Although, some of the books have become crazy expensive (for instance the one on the HMS Alert).
Pug, you got them at a GREAT price !
With the exception of 'The Ships of Columbus' (which I don't particularly want) I have the complete ATOS library, mostly purchased at similar prices as above, from ebay.
Regular monitoring of the site brings rewards.
I'm well over 50% towards a set of duplicates.
Some titles are of dubious interest to me, but you get to a certain point and decide why not and complete the set.
Only yesterday I bought the 'Dreadnought' volume for an extravagant £15.

I would agree but will have some nice spending money when I sell of my library one day :) Then again I saw a free PDF download of the entire AOTS Alert book and was really surprised.

Call me old fashioned, but PDF Downloads aren't the same as holding a real book.
If you're fortunate, having a library of your own is so satisfying. It's far more than just an information retrieval system.
Can you sit on a PDF chair?

Yes he has, as I paid $200 Aussie for mine and it's the earlier edition. There is not much difference between the first and second editions, as mine does not have the full layout on the cover a sits in the middle of the book.
However, it is a great book full of references, and I would struggle if I didn't have it on hand.

Hi Gary.
I have several volumes in 1st & 2nd editions.
As you point out the only difference is he 2nd editions have a larger drawing on the inside of the dust cover; both editions have the exact same drawing within the pages, but smaller.

pugwash,
You wouldn't happen to have a copy of Ed Tosti's 'Naiad Frigate Vol. II' would you? I'm looking to add this to my bookshelf, but Seawatch doesn't know when it will be back in print.

Sorry, no.

Those books are ever so expensive here in the UK.
A quick google search revealed nothing available.

Perhaps another member will se your request and be able to help?

Yesterday I ordered 4 books at very good prices, on ebay.

The Royal Yacht Caroline (ATOS)
And 3 companion volumes...

Battleship HMS Warspite, Detailed in the Original Builders' Plans. Robert Brown.

German Battleship Helgoland: as detailed in the original builders' plans

Armoured Cruiser Cressy Detailed in the Original Builders' Plans

Sweet..hope you are doing better Pug..I'm building the 1/30 Royal Caroline and have the Anatomy book..absolutely one of the best books for building.
Always a boost to get the kind thoughts of others, thank you.
Quietly settling down, accepting the cards as dealt. Hopefully a meaningful update to the 'Peg Leg Papers by the end of this month.

I've been impressed with the ATOS library since its inception back in the 80's.
Research moves on, yet these volumes continue uphold their credibility and charm.
The series was very ambitious during the time the titles expanded, a credit to the publishers commitment.
