Congratulations for this "beast" - looking very good and great details, in this very small scale really not easy to execute Thumbsup
 
All of these ironclads served an important part of our history. We have a museum not far from my home of the USS Cairo. Interesting of what is in the minds of the designers.

Just wached a youtube video on the Cairo a half hour ago. I'd like to have been around the designers when they where working on it.

Eads was a innovative guy. Of course, back then, you got the thing in the water without endless interference. I always thought the US Navy’s timberclads were surprisingly useful and durable in the riverine war, being just slapped together river steamboats.
