Stogodišnjaci iz našega mula
centenarians from our mule

Hello everyone, here is a little treasure that I discovered in a small but lovely museum in Croatia, Betina on the island of Murter. It consists of an illustrated picture book with various small fishing boats and there are also 30 plan sheets. This means that it is possible to build various ships.

I recently bought a copy of the out of print revised 2nd edition Volume 1 of David Antschel's 'The Fully Framed Model, HMN Swan Class Sloops' from the company above for around $25 in total, including shipping USA-UK. Since there was no photograph and the actual book cost just $7 I thought it must be what is known as a 'reading copy' = no dustjacket and a few dog-ears and dusty bits. To my surprise, the book looks to be brand-new, with dust jacket too.

I bought this through Abe books- but going direct to the Thrift Books Tx USA website I see that a search for 'model ships' brings up 370 mostly relevant books - many of them very reasonably priced. A useful resource I am sure.

Hello all..just added the Royal Yacht CAROLINE to the mix..Bellabarba and Osculati version... just for reference of course..hint..hehe In process of shipping the superstructures and deck furniture for OKESA to FL, where I will mate them to the Navy Board hull ,that survived the hurricane. The other scratchbuild is my 1900's steam tramp steamer/cargo ship which I will ship and finish in FL. Back to the book..I was very impressed with the historical presentation and the drawings are excellent..recommend Anatomy of the Ship series..well done All in B/W but got it used for $37 on Amazon.
