I'm back at my bench after some down time recovering from shoulder surgery. This is the second of three in the Shipwright series. The first challenge was finding images of the parts sheets with labels, since mine came with none. Some of them were obvious but right off the bat I wasn't sure which was the bow transom knee.

So far I've built up the bow and stern transoms and placed them on the building board. Time to bend some planks!

I’ve found the Shipwright Series to be tremendously helpful. I’m currently well into the third in the series, the Muskongus Bay Lobster Smack, and realizing that not only am I learning new skills with each one, but also perfecting the skills I picked up in the previous builds. Very rewarding.

I agree 100%. I'm having fun with it.

It's been slow going this summer; a lot of things commanding my attention. I'm currently working on the first garboard plank. The bending is a little tricky, and I'm gluing it up very slowly, a small section at a time.

And suddenly I feel like crap and have tested positive for Covid. Gonna be away from the workbench for a few days again. FML

I've got the frames and the stern and bow quarter knees attached, and this is where the problematic planking comes to bite me in the ass. The seat and thwart frames don't conform to the hull AT ALL. Now I have to take a step back and figure out how to compensate. *Sigh* I may have to build this one again some time to get it right.
