Nuestra Senora del Pilar by Occre - Build log

Happy Bday (late), and what a great desk! Those curved drawers are cool. Nice models, too:)

Hi Phil, I’ve been watching your build from the beginning and have admired your work and photos immensely. So much so, that I purchased the same model and I am at the planking stage. Your log has been an inspiration and valuable guide.
One query, however. Your last set of photos showed what appeared to be a jar of Vaseline alongside the model. (blue lidded jar) If it is Vaseline please tell me what you’re using it for. I have never seen or heard of it being used for rigging.
Thanks again for your excellent craftsmanship and log.

Well....as you can see, along side the vaseline are some 3D printed clamps.I use the vaseline to lubricate the threads. Haven't found a good use for it on my models ( yet!) .....

Build Log Nuestra Senora del Pilar: Update

Started back in on the build. Doing rigging, more specifically, shroud and ratlines. Finished (so far) the ratlines on the lower shrouds of the foremast. Next up - dyeing the color of the ratlines to my liking. Followed by the lower ratlines for the main mast. Tedious work but I'll take my time and do my best....Thank god my garage/shop is heated. Please let me know if you have questions or comments.Ratlines-fore 2.jpgRatlines-fore1.jpgRatlines-fore3.jpg
