Hi Phil. Your Senora looks wonderful my friend - I love the colours!

Build Log Nuestra Senora del Pilar: Update

Started back in on the build. Doing rigging, more specifically, shroud and ratlines. Finished (so far) the ratlines on the lower shrouds of the foremast. Next up - dyeing the color of the ratlines to my liking. Followed by the lower ratlines for the main mast. Tedious work but I'll take my time and do my best....Thank god my garage/shop is heated. Please let me know if you have questions or comments.View attachment 494198View attachment 494199View attachment 494200

Hello Phil, this is John from the club, great work which Iyou could bring to the meeting (I know it is big and do not want to damage anything). Keep up the amazing work. Are you thinking about the next one?

Build Log Update: Nuestra Senora del Pilar

Working on learning Blender, Meshmixer, and some other 3D related software programs that will enable me to 3D print model accessories and equipment and anything else that has to do with my ship building. I came across a program that will actually take an image, in this case, a JPEG and using AI construct a 3D model from that image. So - I thought I'd try a cannon. I did a screen capture of a cannon from CULTS3D.COM and see what happens. The captured image:2025-01-17.png
Which I did a trim in Photoshop to get the cannon without all the extraneous stuff - then took the image into a program called MESHY. I was then able to use MESHY to create a 3D version of which was downloaded as an .STL which can be 3D printed.

The STL file that it created was not totally faithful/accurate to the original as it used AI to create the final product and relied on AI to produce a replica. I can take the STL version into Fusion360 and edit it and fix most issues. (That's next)2025-01-17 (5).png

It should be fun! And now along the way, I purchased 2 3D scanners and will be playing with those. 2 were bought because one does small (10mm - 300mm) and the other larger items (300mm - 1000mm). I'll post more about those endeavors soon. All this is in an effort to make scale stuff for my model ship building.

Best Regards from COLD Idaho!
