So many stairs, but they look great! Repetitive tasks are the name of the ship modeling game, it seems.

The Kraft paper makes a pretty convincing substitute for wood. With a stiff-bristled brush and brown paint of a slightly different tone than the paper, you can probably add some very convincing faux woodgrain if you’re feeling ambitious. Pro tip: practice on some scrap first.

That is looking great ! The curved stairs came out nice ! Although there is not much room to stand at the base of the stairs. :) I guess that sometimes we need to make concessions. LOL
My hope is to have 2 squares, or at least a square and a half. They ended up being longer than anticipated. The stairs are also designed to be like a double wide grand staircase. Honestly the steps should probably be much closer together. Having humans and giants on the same ship makes it hard to judge distances.

Log 22:
Finally bit the bullet and got the front rings thickened up. Also got the start of the horizontal strips cut out. Still need to thicken those and attach them. Then the mid ship deck for the center mast and the back of the ship decks and some walls for the lower levels and the front of the ship inside the hallow area and we will be ready for paper mache and decking. Might build the masts first so they can be secured with the paper mache too but we will see.

Nice ! How did you thicken the frames (rings) at the front?
I'll try to get a better picture at home-- but I took a tracing paper to the current frame (for the ones I couldn't still slide out) and jankily traced them. Then cut them a bit wide out of a box that was two layers with a wavy piece in the center -- the key is to have it be wide enough your glue has something to stick too. And sturdy to hold the shape.

Then using a thin box - the wood equivalent might be like a thin strip of water soaked balsa wood or bamboo reed? You cut a long piece to the width it needs to be.

Hot glue along one side of the frame, then the other. I glued the strip to the part not attached to the ship first then attached it to the ship. The ones I detached I wrapped the excess around to coat the inside too. I'll do that with the others too as I like the look of it.
