I think the Elco's were built as 80' boats, but not for sure.

Love the multiple war movies on PT boats, of course PT 109 and They were expendable, with John Wayne.

Yup but their earlier boats were 70' and 77'.

The PT boats seemed to be customed modified to fit specific taskings when being manufactured, as shown by the multiple variations.

I know as they became more respected by Navy Brass, they got more use and became special ops platforms.

I was surprised to hear some PTs were repurposed for use in major inland waterways and lakes in parts of the world.
