Hi, looks to me you have clamped the one nearest upside down, but I guess that was just for the camera! DON'T glue it like that!

When I made my DIY version I put a small dowel in the keel clamp joints to strengthen the joints (thats the parts that rotate), & depending on the false keel thickness, I use shims to lessen the strain as MDF does not like being bent excessively.

Well, I have time to repair my mistake before going to the job. As I said easy cutting and sanding. I found the piece easy to delaminate... for the good and the worst. It help me to remove the glued pieces. I tihink that it is fine now. LEt me show you some pictures.

DOn't worry, when I saw this picture, I modified my clamping to resolve the small gap at the right fronthead.

I have difficulty to understand, did you replace the scew by a dowel ?

OK, i figure it now. Thanks,it is a good idea that I will able to use. I have some dowels in spare. I purchased some wings-nuts, but I can try to find the correct site of star knob...

Good evenning,

Here is where I am with the built of the stand. Lots of clamps required and time for the glue stting time. Everything are repaired and well set. ONE QUESTION : what did you use as finishing product for the surface ? Varnish, lacquer, Tint, oil ? Any advise accepted.

I putted some dowels (near 3/16 in in diam.) for the stiffness increase of the bow and stern retainers. I used CA glue for them and they are around 2-3 cm in lenght.

Hi, this is the final pics from my built of the professional slip. I found the MDF on the side of low grade. It delaminate easily as shown here again in the last picture. I resolve by putting others dowels.

The more sensible portion of the slip is the central and perpendicular panel that maintained the bulkhead at 90 degree. This part fit very well. (Second picture).

It is a very good idea to purchase Star knob or something similar. There is a lot of screws to manipulate if we want to change the position of the ship on the slip.

Thanks Brian. I made some changes in the post. Your are very fast.

I purchase these star knobs from Eb***. I need other nuts too since there is not enough for all the holes of the two clamp for the Bow and the stern.
