I've seen the film many times. Every time it's on TV I can't not watch it. Apparently, Lawrence and Vincent Van Gogh had something in common there, being drawn to the flame.
"Lust for Life" is another movie I can't not watch. If it's on, I'm hooked!
Peter O'Toole and Kirk Douglass nailed it. As did Anthony Quinn in both movies!

A brief but significant update.....

Today was a big step forward.

I successfully demonstrated I could pass all the criteria for a referral to the prosthetic limb unit at Sheffield, which was completed and forwarded by 'Mel', my designated physio.

She had me stepping out around the gym on a leg with just a zimmer frame for support.

Not bad after just 2 sessions; I think she was just as chuffed as I was.

Jessica, from the council is coming here on the 1st May with a rep from Stannah Stair Lifts, to assess what issues there may be installing a lift!

It's all GO, all of a sudden.

Great news for you!

Not sure about the industry in UK for Prosthetics, but in US they are designing some of best for our wounded veterans, loosing limbs in battle, and it helps all those who also need new prosthetic for future life.

A somewhat positive UPDATE.

Today I got an out of court accident insurance settlement.

Baring in mind all the evidence (what there was of it) was against it, I was expecting nothing, but to my solicitors surprise the other party has awarded a not inconsiderable settlement.

While not being a fraction of what I could have, if things had gone my way, things have worked out not so bad.

Nothing new to report on the rehab, though I remain positive and well.

Una ACTUALIZACIÓN algo positiva.

Hoy recibí un acuerdo de seguro de accidente extrajudicial.

Teniendo en cuenta que todas las pruebas (las que había) estaban en mi contra, no esperaba nada, pero para sorpresa de mis abogados, la otra parte ha concedido un acuerdo nada desdeñable.

Si bien no es una fracción de lo que podría haber sido, si las cosas hubieran salido como yo quería, las cosas no habrían resultado tan mal.

No hay nada nuevo que contar sobre la rehabilitación, aunque sigo siendo positivo y estoy bien.
