Pugwash's peg-leg

Sorry to hear from your accident. But you don't have to stop riding. Your biking days may be about over, but your triking days may just begin. Here's for you. Good recovery.View attachment 489342
I was just thinking the same thing. May God heal you and your guardian angel continue to watch over you. Should you get your bike back into repairable condition, you might check into the Voyager conversion. God's blessings.
In Christ,
Carl

God was watching over you. He said it wasn't your time, so he may have other things for you to accomplish.

Thanks again, guys, for all of your encouragement, it truly helps.

Today I've been transferred to Barnsley hospital, which is exactly 10 miles from home, with splendid views over rolling Yorkshire countryside. Here's where my re-hab begins.
The move involved wasted time regarding ducking and diving through a different system, making sure my meds are correct.

Will stay in touch, though I tire quickly.

'Chin, Chin' for now

S'funny how quickly your life can change.

Last Saturday (30th) I had the misfortune to hit a lorry head on with my motorcycle and somehow survived the collision.
Afterwards I found a leg missing, mid thigh.

The most interesting thing was I met my 'Guardian Angel' briefly at the moment of impact and told me 'not to worry, everything would be ok'.

To my surprise it's true, I'm already making remarkably long strides, with one leg, towards a good recovery.

Hopefully, time will be kind ....... I'll let you all know as time rolls by.
Time to put the Black Pearl on your build list. What's a pirates favorite letter... Arrrrrrgh!

Pugwash, your body has gone through a lot of trauma so rest and rehab will be the key to your recovery. Best of luck to you getting stronger and pain free!

Greetings from Texas! Magic Mike

My God! What a mind focusing report! I applaud your courage and extraordinarily positive attitude! And the lesson in keeping it real! I wish you the greatest of love and blessings flowing your way during your recovery in this life altering experience.
Thank you so much for your candor and bravery in sharing this.

Hi Pugwash,
I like your attitude, mind you that's terrible.
I hope you recover quickly.
Cheers,
Stephen.

That wins the award for brevity, and pardon the expression- impact. Prayers and best wishes for healing. Obviously, you are now, er "equipped" to sign on Long John Silver style.

Sadly, during the early hours of my first night at this 'new' hospital, I witnessed a farce applicable to ''The One Who flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'.

I've reported this event immediately.
I no longer feel safe on this ward and ideally would like my removal, not only from the ward but the hospital.

Keep tuned.

I just read the thread and I'm impressed. I wish you a speedy and good recovery.
And I hope you get sent home soon.

Practice kindness. You want the good ones on your side. Remember the good ones who are there as a calling are there too. Keep watch. Practice patience. Stress will prolong your stay. Trust but verify.
I hate being in hospital. I've spent too much time in them. I have hospital PTSD.
Focus on getting well enough to get the hell out! But try not to force it.
All the best. Blessings. I'll keep you in my heart and mind. My wife will too.
Keep us posted. We all care!

Pete, thanks for your advice.

The big smile and exuberant positivity has gone, all at once.
I know my own mind and am a good judge of character.
What I'm experiencing now is simply unacceptable to me.

Your thoughts are a joy to me.
Please take care.

Hi guys, thanks for your love.....here's an update:-

My optimism remains high, prognosis good.

House re-development needs assessing, so I can get about.
My wheelchair is being modified to fit me; future transport need likely to take a while.
The bike is impounded by the Police, who told my the damage is minimal, so time will tell, though my driving days are over.

Don't know how much of my 'bravado' is the results of Morphine. but once again, thank you for all your kind thoughts.

I'll be back.
Hey. Hey. I am a mechanic by profession and also a bus driver. I have a fellow driver who does not have his whole right leg and yet works as a city bus driver. He rides his motorcycle to work. He pins the sticks on each side of the seat, gets on and drives. He doesn't have an H.D., he's on a Japanese. It's never the end of everything. If you're lucky, I'll take a picture of him riding a motorcycle. :) greeting from Prague .
