I’ve been building model kits for 35 years and now have a collection of primarily unstarted, very high end models from Lauck St., The Lumberyard, and BlueJacket that I’ve decided to sell. I’m also selling a set of William Romero’s HMS Warrior practicums. Having been retired for 15 years there is just no way that I will get around to building these! Please Private Message me with any questions.

Lauck Street

HMS Kingfisher (started).

Three years ago I had a shelf collapse at about 8’ above a concrete floor. My in-progress Kingfisher fell. I had completed all the ribs, however about a dozen were damaged in the fall. The keel assembly also snapped and the building jig disassembled itself. Other than that, I believe that kit is complete and in good condition. Looking for best offers to take over this build. I Paid $1,750 directly from Bob,

Also included are Volumes 1 and 2 of David Antscherl’s books on building HM Swan Class models which are invaluable in completing this beautiful ship. These are out of print and cost well over $100 for each volume if you can find them.

If you are interested in finding out more, please send me a private message.

The Lumber Yard

I have unstarted timbering sets for three Lumberyard Models based on Harold Hahn’s plans. They all include a laser cut building jig and other laser cut pieces. Please check their website for details of what’s in their kits.)

Confederacy 3/16 scale (Boxwood - which is shown as available in Lumber Yard’s catalog, however the current price is not shown. Best offer over $300 plus shipping

Rattlesnake 3/16 scale (Swiss Pear). I also purchased a set of plans from Harold Hahn’s estate. These are in 1/4 scale so will need to be reduced. This is an excellent sized model, by my estimate coming out at just under 28” long. This scale is not available in Lumber Yard’s catalog). Best offer over $300 plus shipping.

HMS Bounty 1/4 scale (Swiss Pear). Current online price is $510. Best offer over $250 plus shipping.

Bluejacket

Please see their website for kit details and photos.

USS Kearsage - Limited Edition. Current online price is $739. Asking $450.

Schooner Atlantic including paint set and pedestals. Current online price is $486 (including extras.) This was one of the most enjoyable models that I have built. Best offer over $250 plus shipping.

William Romero

The Illustrated Guide For Modeling HMS Warrior (74), 1781. Not quite a full set, but enough for several year’s work on a scratch build. These are all spiral-bound.

Volume I
Volume II
Volume III
Volume IV
Volume V Part 2.

Full set of plans for HMS Warrior.

$425 plus shipping for all Romero books and the plans.

I hope so. They are definitely priced to sell.

One thing to mention is that the timbering sets are really heavy and shipping will be expensive! As an example, HMS Bounty weighs 18 lbs.

Just wish I had another 30 years to build them myself!

especially the Romero practicum.
Sorry, but the mere mention of his name raises the ire of anyone who knows anything about him. Why anyone would want anything from that no good SOB after what he did to kids is unbelievable. Even the church wanted nothing to do with him and defrocked him.

I know about the allegations against him, but his practicum are excellent.
Sorry Peter for staying off track but this is a sore spot. My apologies to Bryan as well, I never realized writing a good practicum was acceptable reparation for sexually abusing children and ruining their lives. You are much more forgiving than me. Too bad Hans Loritz did not write ship model practicums, he might have been remembered in better terms.

Allan, I agree with your point of view. But lets not contaminate Peters thread. Perhaps he may choose to delete the practicum from sale.

My hope was that reasonably priced access to some excellent ship models (and the books) was first given to SOS members.

The point of view concerning Romero is no doubt unanimous in this site’s readership. Tell you what, I will try to delete the post and resubmit without the practicums.

Bryian, I cannot find a way to delete the post. Any ideas?

Hey Guys, not everyone knew or knows about this - so lighten up and do not condemn someone if they had or have no knowledge of Romero. I will ask my other Admins as to what to do. Yes, I personally would not support anything to originates from someone like this. But, the point is that please do NOT condemn Peter_h_s as he probably did not have any foreknowledge on this. Just contact us Admins - Okay ?
