RESOLUTION 1667 1:48

I found drawings of gun carriages from my time.
Hi Karen,

For members interested, the photo of the carriage above is from Richard Endsor's book The Master Shipwright's Secrets pages 266 and 267.
Made master models of guns. Now it's time to make silicone molds.

Just in case it is interesting for you, when there was a cypher used in 1667 on English naval cannon they were as below and placed on the second reinforce, not the first. There was only a touch hole, no powder pan on English naval cannon until the Armstrong Frederick pattern was introduced about 1760.

A word of caution. From earlier experience the bare wood has grain and it will transfer to the molds and cast barrels. Sanding, sealing, and more sanding to 800 grit or finer will help.

I made a mold for casting from silicone. I had the silicone for 3 years, from the previous ship. It turned out that it had deteriorated. When I started casting the cannon, the mold was covered with bubbles. I ordered new silicone, I will make the mold for casting again.

It would be nice, Karen, if you shared the making a new mold with us. You can write it in the Russian language, I offer you my translation into English. How does this sound to you?

I ordered silicone for molds. While I'm waiting, I made a figurehead on a CNC machine. Then I made ship holders from bronze.
