Rowing Boat Clyde Model Dockyard 1:6 scale clinker / lapstrake by Kimosubby [Kim Holland]

I see that you have added bottom boards , Swallow must have had these over the ballast in the bottom of the boat, what did make these of?

Just seen your pictures, that's just what I needed. The cleat on the mast would be the the best as easy to make off and undo. The main sheet goes to transom, often these are attached to a rope across with a pulley for the sheet to go through and just held with your hand on the tiller

Before you invest in RC gear, I doubt if this boat will sail well as built. While you have tackled the stability issue with the 300g brass bar, the as built keel may not be enough to prevent the boat from sliding to leeward under sail. You may have to add an external fin keel to bolt on to the model’s keel.

mine will static, I would be interested how easy it is to put a pulley into the top of the mast for the main halyard

Really useful and informative thread, thank you. Have just started my 1:6 scale clinker build and it will be my first plank on frame boat. Is there a link to the plank bending with SMD torch threat you mentioned? Have looked but can't find it and the plank bending is the part I have the most trepidation about.
