Hello everybody,
As told in my introduction, I am building the S.m.s Scharnhorst 1/100 scale
It came as a Semi kit, gfk hull and resin parts,

But till now I mostly rebuild the parts or just use the resin parts as a base for rebuilding the parts.
As guideline I use the Wischmeijer plans and pictures collected over the years,

below some pictures of my build, they are not exactly in chronological order, but it will give a impression of my build.

;) Welcome aboard SOS, Boris! It is a nice Ship and you make a really good model of Her. Bravo!!! If you don't mind, to help others who may interested to build as well, what kind of semy-kit is it? Manufacture or link? Is it comes with PE parts? Did you turn main calibre guns barrels yourself? last but not least question of mine, what is the ship's hull on the background?

jimsky,

The kit I purchased some years ago from MZ (Zinnecker) in Germany (he retired in January 2019)

I bought it as a kit, but the quality was not so good of the resin, and the hull needed a lot of redoing, remade all the portholes and lining and a lot more.

The resin parts
rebuilt the most or use the rest as a base to work from,
The kit came with some PE but more basic things,

Collected in the past years some 1/100 scale PE, what I use, and the rest I made by my self.
love working with brass.

Most of the details I made by my self, due to the fact that the kit came as a model to use as a RC model, so not so much details on it.
But I build her as a stand model.

the barrels I turned by my self, did not like the one that came with it, the diameter and sizes where not correct.

The hull you see in the back is the H.m.s Agamemnon 1/64 scale from Caldercraft
I started on her, but due to water damage during hurricane Thomas 2010 (that I repaired) lost a little the drive to work on her.
After I finished my 1/100 scale S.m.s Emden last year I considered to start with her again, but at this moment I like to build scratch or semi scratch.
But perhaps after the Scharnhorst I will start with her again, who knows ??.

Below a few pictures of my 1/100 Emden also a MZ kit that I rebuilt in the same way as the Scharnhorst, her build took me almost 5 years to complete.

As in my previous post I started with the first funnel,

Thanks everybody for the thumbs up.
Sometime I also feel sad, after putting up a lot of work on a part, and than simply just spray paint it, same with my Emden put up a nice collection of brass parts and silver wire. Hidden under a layer of paint :)
Perhaps I will make a model in the future, where I leave al the brass details unpainted, saw some nice models already done like that.

But the story continues with the funnels, made number two ready and almost finished number tree, still away to go, and than..... yup.. spray paint them !
