Saint Albans 1687 in Navy Board Style - 1 : 48 scale [COMPLETED BUILD]

In the meantime I kept working on the stern and the quartergalleries. The corner figures have been added.

It took three attempts before the lower figures were well proportioned. Unfortunately, I didn't have any detailed photos and the plans aren't very informative concerning the quartergalleries.

Even though there are already a lot of figures, there is a lot missing. The upper final figures of the quartergalleries and also the taffrail are decorated with acanthus carvings from the inside in the upper perforated part. I won't do that until later.

Now let's continue with the Galion.

Many greetings,
Alexander

Hi Alexander
Pretty work, only the angel head with the wings below the quarter gallery is a little bit to low.
There is no place between the quarter gallery normal. Take a look of your photographs of the
original model, you posted on page 1.

Greetings
Willi (schifferlbauer)

Actually, I wanted to construct the lateral bow timbers first, but I saw that it didn't work. I blame the plans (especially the detailed plan of the "Beakhead Bulkhead" doesn't seem consistent to me).

So I tried the headrail of the galion first. With the photo editing program, the side view was stretched in the correct proportion and then the headrail was carved in two parts each.

The result can be seen here:

I wish you all a Merry Christmas
