Hello everyone, before I start my build log I have a few interesting pictures for you.My last year visit at West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton,Alberta, they have a Santa Maria replica inside the mall, here are a few pictures of the ship.
The instruction booklet has no written instructions whatsoever just pictures, they are good for guidelines but in my case, that means nothing because I will heavily modify the kit.
Installing the bulkheads was a little bit interesting, first I had to slide into one of the reinforcing parts one by one each bulkhead, the interlocking slots must facing outwards and after the second reinforcing part slides in with interlocking slots facing also outwards just the opposite side. Here are a few pictures I took from the instruction booklet showing these steps. The instruction manual free to download.
Hello again, started to install the first few bulkheads with the help of two square ruler to keep everything square, adding bulkheads, now number 4, I started with number 3.
Bulkhead number 8 fitted and glued in and the whole reinforcing structure with the installed bulkheads is mounted on the backbone/keel and glued in, bulkheads number 9 and 10 also fitted and glued in on the keel.
After finished installing the bulkheads and some initial fairing and shimming I decided to add little more reinforcements at forecastle and stern area.
