Hello gentlemen... I just finished my Bluenose build, so will be beginning on the Santa Maria now, and will be looking intently at your build log here, Craig, as well as the two You-Tube videos by VanMac and GenoJoe. Appreciate all of your work!
I have had the Pavel Nikitin kit for about 6 months and had only just opened the box to peek at the contents but had not removed anything or looked at details much until now. First off, the plans are huge! I was used to some 42" x 24" set of plans with the Bluenose that fit nicely on a drafting table I have. Where do I hang these plans?!? Ha!
My question, though, really as an opener, though, is... did any of your discover that your spiral-bound instruction manual has pages out of sequence? Of course, I can't speak for later in the build and whether those pages are presented in order, but I did notice that the first series of pages shows things like the keel assembly, each of the bulkheads and the various support pieces that are attached to each, then on to actually placing the bulkheads in each of the keel slots, etc. And then it gets to Page 25 and it shows the supports pieces (Parts 58 & 59, R & L) being attached to either side of the constructed keel. Aren't those supporting pieces (are they false keels or rabbets) going on long before Page 25?!? Are there other workflow inconsistencies any of you have noted?
I know there is a translation hurdle we need to address and work through, but this doesn't look quite right. I was actually planning on taking the bound instructions to Kinko's to have the instructions copied before I start, and maybe some resorting may be warranted as I am doing that.
Any advice and comments are appreciated. Perhaps your logs and videos address this issue and I will review all of that before I begin, but thought I'd ask this now. Thanks, guys! Best wishes on your respective Santa Maria builds! Looking forward to see your progress.

I apologise in advance for intruding on someone else's build log for this kit. But since I am the author of this kit, I hope that my intervention will not be unnecessary).
