ha ha ha!! I accidently found the masts... You glue these pieces together... Think I'll go with dowels.

I agree dowels for sure although you have some cool tapering guides there.

Finished the small deck pieces. There's also a stove, but I'm no going to use that. I filled the buckets with white glue as I've seen others do. It dries clear and looks like water.

On to something else...

Those deck pieces add a lot to an already well detailed build. Nicely done.

Thank you everyone. I like the way the wood looks when airbrushed with Pavel's alcohol dyes and a light coat of minwax wipe-on satin poly. The kit comes with a bottle of gold paint. Quite a bit of the stern is highlighted in gold. Not sure yet if I will apply this... Maybe a little gold in places. Would hate to create a mess by getting gold outside the edges of the details.

And I haven't put the nails (bolts) on the bumpers on the outside of the hull. Again, maybe...

Maybe you could experiment with some dry brushing... That's a nice way of adding highlights at a lower risk level...

Working on the internal hand rails. Found another OOPS!. I placed the boards out of order, so the square hole for the post is in the wrong place. I'll blame this on the plank numbers being wrong when gluing them together!! Guess I can't count that well...

Thanks Doc. I have bought some dry brush brushes and paints. They've been on the shelf for a while. Guess I need to learn to use them.
