Santisima Trinidad Occre 1/90 scale

Hi Willy,
Your coppering looks great! I was looking online to try to find a 'solution' and so far everything involves water and of course chemicals. A simple one
was to use one part 'Miracle-Gro' diluted with 3 parts water. A green patina can be achieved using red wine vinegar instead of water added to the Miracle-Gro. Here's a link
It would sure be nice to have a solution that can be wiped on and quickly removed. With all of your beautiful work so far I would mask the heck out of everything first :)

a friend of mine was replacing a huge copper dome at Hopkins Hospital here in Baltimore. he got it all replaced and sprayed it with a concoction of vinegar and copper Sulphate to turn it green. A couple days passed and Still shinny new copper. So he knows I Anodize, Blue, and Black Oxide metals so he stopped in to have a talk. I told him Ammonium Chloride 4-6 applications and green. He couldn't find any and asked if anything else would work I said I have heard Bird droppings and water works, but never tried it. Well so happens he raises pigeons and noticed an ammonia Oder from the coop. and became frantic. 2 days later he comes back and told me he went to Wal-Mart bought a blender and went in and scraped all the bird poop he could find in the coop and tossed it into the blender with ammonia, water and copper sulphate made a gallon of it and reduced it with a gallon of clean water and made 2 gallon. he had at that dome for 8 straight hours and made it Green. Thinking about it, it had a really good chance to work as good as ammonium chloride.

hello shipmates, this afternoon a bit busy on the port side with the cannons to place on the 2 and third deck, and also the stairs on the side made, still a bit painted and finished and then they are done.
Tuesday I get the verdigris paint and I will do a trial on the hull to age the copper, hopefully, the tape does not come from the hull, and if it had to be ... yes then start again for sure?
Greetings
willy

If you look at the rudder alone, the green looks too much, but if you compare with photos of real ships with wooden hull covered with copper planking laying in dry docks it is close to the reality, maybe slightly darker and closer to green, but also withe some brown areas.....

Take a look at the USS Constitution photos of her in drydock

Not much models showing a weathering of the copper sheating......

But take also a look at the model of the La Jacinthe in scale 1/65 from our member @Iosto with a very good result
