Hello everyone!
First time build the wood model!
Assemble the central parts and install the deck.
Would like to admit the low quality of plywood, which is bent and needs correction.

Start to think about planking.
Use an iron and bent top wet planks. Surprisingly realized that this working well.
Attached to the hull and cut a bit the bottom side of the planks.

As far as I understand they didn't have doors and used as a waterway.
Should the deck and bottom edge of gun ports be at the same level?

Just normal light with two white bulbs and blue cardboard from Dollarama as a screen.
Photo matrix works better when you have blue in your composition.

Vladimir,

The bottom edge of the gun port shouldn't be at the same level as the deck. Look into your drafts it shows the waterways. For water to escape from the ship they use scuppers (шпигат) shpigat in Russian

The lower edge of the gunport are definitely higher than the deck planking, I think it is also visible at the drawing of the kit.



These flat deck sloops had usually no gun-port lids, and the guns were also usually fixed running out through the gunport, so they had more space on deck behind the carriages.
They had no lids, so that in heavy weather the water can go out directly trough the gunports, in heavy weather the scuppers are not enough.

I have a very good example from the frigate Hermione, showing the real ship in slightly heavy weather, than this is understandable.

I'm not so proficient in Russian marine terminology, furthermore, it's come mostly from Holland by Peter First.
But I'm studying while I'm doing. That's why I start the block and great thanks for you all!

Yeh! Sometimes it confusing, because I'm not so proficient in Russian marine terminology, also in English too.
Thank you for your help. I just start to learn marine dictionary.

You are not alone Vladimir! Whether you better understand Russian, English or other languages, though you can always find help on our forum. Here is some book I may recommend for both: nautical terminology as well as ship modelling techniques.

1. Orazio Curti - Modelli Navali, Encyclopedia del modelizmo Navale (great book for a novice ) I saw this book in the Russian language.
2. Wolfram Zu Monfeld - Historic Ship Models

Both books great for a novice as well as more experienced shipwrights.
