Self-made drum sander for fine sanding of wood to thin thicknesses

I was always dreaming of making my own wood thickness sander but so far I was not able to find an accurately machined drum on which I could mount the sand paper. The common rubber body drums I had purchased were wobbling so much I threw them away and forgot about my dream till now.
