Following also the S.R. on a French forum it was noted the other day that Mantua made a small mistake on the decoration of the third deck gun port they are upside down according to the Paris Naval museum model

it is a nice Gold representation. What kind of leaf you are using (if any)? Did you do a primer first?
Jim, I washed it good with dish soap and water and air dried. I was worried about covering detail so no primer. I used a acrylic paint called Testors Craft Precious Metals Classic Gold. Then washed with a very thin black acrylic.
My gosh, this looks huge. How many inches length is just the hull alone ?
