Hello, I don’t see my build indexed anywhere:

Also, it is a little puzzling that there are multiple different index listings for the same subject, but with various spellings or arrangements of the ship’s name

Le Soleil Royale
Le Soleil Royal
Soleil Royal

They all refer to the same subject, so why not group them under one one correctly spelled listing: Le Soleil Royal, 1669-1692

the listing is basically copied from the category ,they are not spell checked or anything like that ,you will see the names as they were posted by the builder
 
Okay. That being said, my build still does not appear anywhere, under any name variants, on either list. Can someone please add it to “Soleil Royal,” where most of the other SR builds exist?
 
After a build log is first created, the details will be copied at the next index update. The topic titles are many and various so it needs a friendly name for the index. I suspect that this log has been in the index - correctly - for some time. However, the title had somehow been over written as "Captain Kidd" !
Sorry about that. I've corrected it, but it won't appear until the next update.

Keeping the spelling of new entries consistent with existing entries is a challenge, Vasa or Wasa for example, but there's only one entry for "Soleil Royal" that's out of step ("Soleil Royale") which I've also corrected.
 
Update:
You're quite correct, the majority of the logs are for "Soleil Royal" rather than "Le Soleil Royal".
I also found a couple more, one had "Artesania Latina" as a prefix, the other had had a sex change - "La Soleil Royal" rather than "Le Soleil Royal".

I'm going to settle for "Le Soleil Royal" as that's the format for other French ships.

The problem here is that there is no builld log in the 'Wood kits' forum. It's actually in the 'Group builds' Forum.
That forum isn't included in the 'All Ships forum' as there are very few ships in the 'Group builds and so indexes for these models aren't required.

Can I suggest a solution?
Create a 'Bluenose' entry in the 'Wood kits' forum as follows:

Only snag is that it won't appear in the 'All ships' index until next month's update. You'll need to PM me after you've created the entry so I can update the 'Wood index' wuich is a quick job.

Thanks for the quick answer, Arthur. Then I’ll wait for the next month’s update in the ‘All the Ships’.
I won’t create a new one in the ‘Wood kits’. That’s ’double posting’.

It’s also not a great problem that my/our Bluenose(s) are not in the lists, but just a ‘(little) inconsistency’.
It could better named ‘(Not) All the Ships’-index ……. ;)
Is it correct that the models in other ‘Group Builds’ are also not in the index? I miss a lot of Alert’s, Coureur’s etc.
PS: Please don’t see this as a ‘attack’. I really appreciate all the work you have done with all the indexes. And all the work the moderator-team does.Thumbsup

The way to do it is not to copy the whole build log into that forum. As you say, that would be double posting.

To make things work, you need an entry in one of the build log forums, in your case the 'Wood kits' forum.
Start by creating a new build log called 'Bluenose'
All you now need to make it work is a link to the build log.
There's a working example in my January 5th posts, but here it is again:

I did not misunderstood your message. I know where my log is and how to make the link.
In the YQ Bluenose Group Build are now 30 Bluenose build-logs. To get those 30 logs in the index, ‘we’ have to make 30 new build-logs with the links to the 30 already existing build -logs ……
Sorry, not for me. I can live with my ‘not in the index listed’ BN.
Not to speak for the 15 Coureur’s, 27 Alerts and 17 Rochefort’s ……..
