You are doing a marvelous job! However, I have one question. On early British ships of the Line, weren't the upper bulwarks painted black instead of blue? I know that the Spanish and French used blue, but every depiction of British ships show black. I'm curious . . .

Hi Bill, You could be correct but my wife has been trying to get me to build this ship for roughly 35 years, when it came time to paint it I asked her if she liked the blue or black she chose blue. My choice would have been black but we all know who wins that battle.
