Stbd side gun port doors finished and rigged this kit really is testing as nothing really has been thought out to help the builder at every stage things need a work around, I'm still enjoying the challenge. though

Almost done with the doors just 6 more to rigg that's tomorrow then on to the deadeyes/chains

Morning all, finished the gun doors and moved on to the dead-eye assembly, and found myself with the same problem! they need to be black and the chain link and brackets are coated with something that the bluing liquid doesn't like and won't take so looks like paint is the only way to go, found some admiralty iron black which will do the job.
Question! what colour were the dead-eyes black or natural kit says natural but i'm not sure. (on my victory they were black but that was a fair bit later)

Thanks, do you regret selling her? the older kits are far superior to the later ones, quality wise.

I don't regret it. I have more boats on the shelves than I'll likely get to thanks to wonderful deals here on this site. Also, I've watched several builds on the SoS and I'm not sure I'm up for all the decorative work. More power to those that are though. Last winter I I bought one Byrnes table saws and the little hand disc sander from Canada. Haven't even turned the table saw on yet.

I've been replacing parts of my 20-year old deck this summer and building furniture for some family members. Plan to get back to the Adrea Gail this winter after a bit of deer hunting with my archery equipment.

Morning chaps, or should i say afternoon started at 7:45am and just come down at 1:00pm very little to show for 5 hours the gun carriages are a pain to do and fitting the axle to the axel holder is a nightmare. Thankfully there is only 26 to do (ONLY lol)
The belaying pins and rack fitted even though they weren't used by the Royal Navy till later !! Thought I might as well use them

I agree, those gun carriage axle fittings were a real pain!!
While i'm here, you have a number of ring bolts through the deck with rings attached at various places. I assume they are for rigging later but I can find no reference to them or to their location Can you help?
