The sails are hand sew from muslin. This modern bark utilized chain lifts which I have not built on past builds. I was able to match the paint color by getting a paint chip from the yards they were repainting on the docks in front of the star at the time. I think I matched the color pretty well.

I also save stuff even the old plywood from kits that hold frame parts I use that for blocking here and there rather then cut up good wood. it drives the wife crazy and she says I'm a hoarder, but hey when I need something I usually have it on hand or I can make it from something I saved.
