Where did you find these, Jeff? It doesn’t quite look like what Ive seen so far. I believe they will be able to be seen in the front and side only.

It's scratchbuilt. I made it this morning from a piece of brass tubing, the peaked top is a discard from a sheet metal punch I have (the discards from making the a hole in a sheet of metal is the same diameter as the tubing and they have a peak in the center) and a T1 LED. I've only made this one so far as a test (and I ran out of time before I had to leave), with the idea that I'd post it and see if anyone has any suggestions to improve or correct it.
Based on this image I found on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navigation_light), having the side navigation lights visible from the front and side only is correct, but if someone knows differently, I can make the lights to have a wider angle of view. I believe that’s right. When you look at the pewter molded part in the kit, you will see what I believe is the way it looks. I’m not sure how I’m going to make it look like that.
