The manufacturers website. If say Amati will charge me 200.00$ for kit 009
So what is the problem? Order directly from Amati in Italy. :)

Then again, as Zoly points out, you will be paying the CIF. I am not sure if you would get tagged with the VAT as well, which currently is another 22% for Italian goods. And, if there is a problem you have to go back to the manufacturer rather than a more local source.

You do know that retailers do not pay msrp to get the item right?

To make it less eventful of discussion, let us discuss Walmart and its toy department.

I worked at walmart for 5 years. Last year as a department manager. I spent 2 years doing inventory.

Walmart buys a 2 count box of the big fancy "christmas 2024" barbie doll. They pay X for the box of two dolls. Then they take the case price of X, increase it by 10-15% and it becomes the price for each barbie doll. Yeah, thats how it goes in retail. And thats how it goes with most toys youll find at walmart. Some of those toys, like

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Disney-P...s-How-Far-I-ll-Go/587870033?classType=REGULAR came 3 or 4 in a box, and so the purchase price plus 10% gives you roughly 19.00$ retail per item.

things like this following, came in cases of 6/8/10/12 from the factory. IN CHINA.

He knows. He is a retailer.

I am awaiting an order from Bluejacket to arrive any day now (I am in Windsor, ON), will be interesting to see what/if any tariffs I might have to pay once my package arrives. I've had to pay extra fees before with shipments by UPS (thinking it was HST or GST). I don't know the HS code for this type of item, so not sure if I have to pay.
Hopefully not.... Bluejacket has a lot of fittings I use that pretty much nobody else has for the type of ships I build.

I did recently get a package from Cornwall Model Boats in the UK and that arrived quickly and no extra fees needed to be paid - mind you they are in Britain, and I am in Canada - so no trade drama.

American model ships are already very expensive in Sweden. There are very few places in Sweden that sell American kits even now.In general, Swedes are boycotting American products altogether. The wine bottles are starting to look dusty on the shelves at the Swedish Systembolaget.

Thats not something to be proud of. Not by any long shot. If you want to over pay for alcohol, order at a bar..

And if the concept is to "restrict access" to alcohol by making it over priced, and harder to get. Why is just about every movie or tv show about Sweden seemingly centered around people going drinking every couple days? Its sort of screwing with the common people ya know.

Americans had to get around such problems by bootlegging and smuggling once, and the gangsters got rich because of it.

Swedes have a love-hate relationship with Systembolaget. A disadvantage is that the opening hours are limited. An advantage is that even in fairly small towns there is a large range to choose from.
Prices are not very high compared to other European countries.
Good or bad, I don't know, but a majority of Swedes want to keep it.

Do you think that american companies will find resellers in european union now?
British company has it since they left the union. Krick for example is selling Vanguard.
