Lovely work. On the scratch boat I made to accompany the Vasa these tiny bits (like the knees) started to eclipse the tolerances of the pear wood. You seem to have done better. My 1:64 oars nearly ended me. My best wishes for the 1:72 version. I have nothing but the utmost respect for this level of modeling.

Thanks so much pugwash, Roger, Charlie, Allan & the likes :-)

Finally it is done. I might "play" later and add a compass, water barrel and a small anchor but for now it is "kit complete". What a fun to build this little boat :-) I hope to get another one when Igor is doing a new run later the year.

Hi Dirk
The model is one of the finest ship's boat models we have seen here at SoS, congratulations. This may sound silly but I also love the base as well. It looks like it came from a weathered old piece of driftwood or similar and it adds to the overall look.

Just reviewed your excellent build and have several questions....

-what is the wood (boat and oars)?
-method of char removal?
-what kind of glue's did you use?
-does the builder have to make his own knee's and metalwork?

Have you suggestions regarding masting and rigging for such a boat?

Thanks for this inspirational thread.
Often taken for granted: your photography is just as skilled as the model.
Looking foreward getting my own example.
