Hello Nigel,Great project Bryan !
There are issues with the hull form in many areas. There is one build where the hull was chopped about all over to correct all of these, but it is a case of how far do you want to go. You can find yourself going down a deep rabbit hole very easily. This may have been on the Finescale modeller website, not sure but is was a huge amount of work before you even reach deck level
I assume you are going to add aftermarket photo etch?
are you going to taper the prop shaft housings that are part of the hull that the prop shafts come thru as shown on Sheet 3 - Outboard Profile of the ship's Booklet of General Plans 1941 or leave them with blunt ends?
I will have a look to see if I can find the article Bryan. I do remember though the hull being seriously reshaped at the bow end and the profile was changed where the forward case mates used to be fitted. The difference between kit and the actual vessel is noticeable when you compare the model hull with photos of the vessel I believe
Good luck with this build Brian. You've already made some decent progress; you're ahead of me on the hull at present as I've been focussing on sub assemblies.Hello friends,
been looking for another ship model for some time, and finally jumped at this kit when it was discounted recently. This is the start of my new build log for the USS Arizona.
I have assembled the main hull and deck pieces together. Thanks for your interest.

Wow, you're way ahead of me with the docking keels. What have you used to replicate them? Evergreen strips?? Looking good mate. Hope to get on top of mine this weekend.I'm currently in the process of scratch building and installing the docking keels.
