Hi and thanks for the response. Yes. I am on a quest to sail away on the Black Pearl. So far, in the past couple of days, l have assembled my materials, prepared a surface, got the plans, and am trying very hard to find a video that will recommend a smple enough tool to print them out in A4 to scale. Today l tried 2 different applications but l couldn't get it to work. I want the skeleton base to be about 35-40 cm long. even bought a second-hand printer (this was pending, anyway), ink and paper, set it up, and tomorrow l would like to start cutting. There is progress:)) l will try to figure that out tomorrow. I am excited to actually. start it. However, l am well aware that l need to do my prep first, if l want to make it fabulous, especially as a total amateur. I have been reading blogs, watching videos, and the experts do their thing, and it's been quite a ride just watching, in awe. One-day soon, l hope to hoist my own sails.
Considering the size to build and keeping scale in mind I am posting a chart for your reference. And look at the many Build Logs posted in this forum. Screenshot_20210311-081357_Chrome.jpg

Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate it! I am very happy to be around so many experts and honestly, such helpful and inspirational people. I check this site from time to time, for tips and to see how others do it. I have learned so much from this site. I will be posting my updates soon. Stay blessed too

Hello and welcome.
I wish you that you can realize your project, there is a great story behind it.
It's taking me some time to get the skeleton right, as l didn't have the simplest of tools, but l got them now, so l l am able to work on it. I will post updates soon. Thank you

Hey Ms L,
Haven't heard anything in a bit and just wondering if things are going well.
I saw your post earlier about changing the width of the slots in the false keel since your material wasn't that thick. What you could do is decide just to attach them at one side of the slot or the other. Another possibility would be to make the bulkheads out of cardboard to give a little more strength. Because our materials are a bit thicker than the card stock you stated you are using (if I remember correctly) is that as the bulkheads (sideways frames) get closer to the bow (front) and stern (back) of the ship, the ship tapers. So, we need to taper or bevel the edges of the bulkheads to match the shape of the hull. It may be shown on your bulkhead plans as a solid outer line and a dashed inner line. You could put the bevel on cardboard bulkheads. On the card stock, you could actually make 2 bulkheads for each position one using the solid line and one using the dashed line for each bulkhead position where there is a bevel. If you are going to use the card stock, you will probably need to put something on them to strengthen them widthwise on the ship Maybe use some popsicle sticks glued across them. Oh, I almost forgot to mention, on the bulkheads, if there is a dashed line on the forward half of the ship the dashed line would be the side of the bulkhead closer to the bow and on the rear half of the ship, the dashed side would go toward the stern of the ship. Again, that is if you have the dashed lines on the bulkhead plans.

I hope that helps you and I hope things are going great with your ship !
