It is kind of interesting how much Ship Modeling can relate to life situations. I am sure that all of us wanted to either Redo or Undo a ship project, part, rigging, ect, I know I have. Plenty of times I did not like the way something looked or was going together and just wanted to start all over again.
However, you know, not everything can be redone or undone - as the saying goes "It is what it is" and just move forward. So, over the weekend I got to thinking that the same applies to life, there are just some things in life that you can not Redo or Undo. It is a mistake, or a regret, or remorse about something. At least for me that is very true. It is like some things are just set in stone and can not be erased or fixed.
Ok, so, I know this all sounds very negative and I do not want to leave here with that. The point is that all of us at some point have to overcome things that life can throw at us. We are all shaped by our past experiences, but the next day can allow us to move onward to better things, and decisions. Its the same with ship building. That ship sitting in front of you can represent life and what you have put into it.
Now, most of you know me enough that yes, I am going to put a deeper meaning behind this - so, lets put our glue bottle down for a moment. Just like me, I am not a perfect person as I have said. I am not a perfect modeler nor a master builder (as some of you have complimented me on) and I humbly accept that - but I will say I have seen model ships that are a pure work of love and a work of art that surpasses anything I can do. Ok, so, let me say something here and this is not about religion. It is something deeper than that.
We have a Master Craftsman and a Master Artisan, that is God, and by his love and grace He can reshape, redo, undo things in our life if we just let him. It is called trust. That doesn't mean he will make our lives all perfect with no problems. But, I can promise that He will guide you from this moment on to help with whatever (we all) struggle with.
And while you still have that bottle of glue sitting on your workbench and hoping that you are still reading this, please turn your attention to this:
In the Bible from Proverbs 3:6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
and do not lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
and He will make your path straight"
