Time for a new battery

Geez, just found your log. You have my support and prayer. I'm at the cusp of having my ICD replaced also. My last remote checkup pegged my battery level at less than two months before the elective replacement indicator kicks in. I will very interested how you're replacement goes.

Thank you, Jan, it is a little troubling knowing you have to go into the red zone so to speak with these devices before you can have them replaced economically with our government insurance. My dad had an ICD too, I know those play a more critical role as a built-in defibrillator. My prayer will be for you too for a timely and successful replacement.

I hope everything went well Daniel.

I just read where the Chinese have developed a nuclear battery that could last up to 50 years. Maybe it will be ready by the time you need another one and it would be the last time you have to go through it.

Of course you might glow a little bit ...

Great news everyone, the battery replacement was successful! We’re back home to begin the healing process. I reach out to all of you with a heartfelt thank you for your prayers, kind responses, and uplifting messages. I’ll be back at the shipyard as soon time permits. So again with much love and gratitude, see you all soon.

Outpatient? Is the pacemaker inside your chest or glued to the outside?

If it’s inside as I suspect, I wonder whether anyone has yet tried recharging by induced current, like an iPhone in its dock.

I’ve been threatened with an ICD (sort of ‘smart’ regulator) and nowadays they’re small, to fit under the skin, and clever enough to call home if they think intervention is needed. They do remote updates too. Not sure about recharges.
For myself, I’m suspicious of a device that claims to handle any eventuality. The story of progress is one of bright, better inventions that fail.
How many ships went down for each ‘improvement’ before the kinks were worked out.
“We’ll never need enough lifeboats for the entire ships complement”

So you have another voice petitioning Gaia for a successful pit stop for you.

That’s good news, Daniel. See you soon with a update from the shipyard.

Hello Jim, if you are being considered as a candidate for an implant, I understand your trepidation. Pacemakers do not fix what's wrong with your heart, they do however prevent what could be an early death and at the same time improve your quality of life. I look at my PM as a backup to my heart which is comforting to have once you get used to it.
