This is the first model boat that I built, it was from a kit from Tippecanoe model boats, it was about six years ago and I had fun building it and was surprised to find that I had even more fun sailing it,
It fits, fully rigged into the back of my car so there is no hassle trying to rig outside in the wind and by the waters edge, just turn on the batteries for the servos in the hull and on the transmitter and you are ready to go. Allthough I have made quite a few other craft it still remains a favourite I have sailed Zena hundreds of times and still get a smile on my face every time when she heads out.
It’s such a simple form for the hull just four pieces of shaped thin ply held together with epoxy filets, there is a carbon fibre mast and booms and ripstop nylon sails, For anyone who wants to build a simple but surprisingly sophisticated small yacht to go sailing I can’t recommend the T37 highly enough. Sailing in almost no wind with reflections of the sky and trees

Hallo Tony,
we wish you all the BEST and a HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Birthday-Cake
Are you working on an actual project?

Am I working on any projects? well there is always something new going on in my shipyard and there are also quite a few unfinished projects that got put aside for one reason or another mostly because a new challenge came along that was more interesting. For me it seems that my process is mostly about challenges, Can I do this? and If so how will I do it ? a case in point is the Couta Boat, still no sails and nearly rigged and my only non sailing craft but most of the difficult bits resolved and then along came the plans for Gary Webb’s “ Annie” a scratch build 1.5 metre cargo schooner radio controlled which has kept me going for most of this past year and I am currently casting lead for a keel bulb that has turned into a bit of a nightmare but as I think back on the positives I have learnt how to turn Bulb patterns on a wood lathe and built boxes for the casting sand, melted the lead, cast it successfully without burning myself and cleaned it up with woodworking tools.
I infinitely prefer wood to lead and am pleased that this task is nearly over.
