Titanic scale 1:100 attempt no. 2

Hello everyone. I have been working on upscaling the Maty Modelarz model of RMS Titanic from 1:200 to 1:100. The last 8 hours were spent working on this. Currently, the structure is completed, with a hull made of masking tape. The ship is 2.7 metres long, or 9 feet, and currently weights 2 kg or 5 lbs.



At least 1 more layer of masking tape will be applied before the hull plating.

that looks great and big! The wight is tremendous for a "paper" model.
What thickness or grammatur of cardboard you do build from?

I used cardboard boxes for the model. Corrugated card is not the best material, but with 7m^2 needed for the model it was probably the best choice (it is also cheap!). The end result is more sturdy than I actually imagined it would be. Also, I'm currently in the process of adding decks.

Hope you have added plenty of reinforcement to the hull. Would hate to see it break apart if you lifted it up.

The decks were printed on card and glued on cardboard. The aft decks are not yet glued in place.
